Being an NHS Wellbeing Champion means that I'm already very passionate about our colleague's and families' wellbeing, and also Leading walks for Live-well has helped me build a large network of people that are making friends and doing something that is benefiting us all. Taking care of my own mental health in these very challenging circumstances that we have all endured is so important. During the covid pandemic, I wanted to help and support others, and the only way I knew how to do that was through the power of social media and setting up support groups, mainly to encourage physical activity such as walking to enhance mental and physical health. I encouraged colleagues to take on step challenges and we also do a FB group challenge. Movement of any sort is fab for our mental health and it did the trick and a lot of people have carried on the exercise and adopting a healthier lifestyle.
