Mat Richardson

I love being active and supporting others to do so.  Most weekends I’ll be walking, jogging or volunteering at parkrun.  This is one of the the social communities that I love being a part of and volunteering with, alongside several learning disability support groups near where I live in Leicestershire.  I’m very lucky to be working on a project called Our Active Community in Derby City for the charity Mencap over the next 3 years, from 2024 to 2027.  My role aims to work alongside communities in Derby and Nottingham to help grow opportunities for people with a learning disability to get and stay active throughout their lives.  I’m looking to reach out to individuals and organisations in Derby who may be interested to get involved in whatever way, big or small - everything helps.
