2021 Walking Festival

13 May 2021

Virtual walk of Hadrian's Wall

This walk follows the historic UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall National Trail from coast to coast. The 84-mile pathway passes through a diverse landscape where magnificent moorland gives way to rolling fields. Hadrian's wall was constructed in 2nd Century AD to protect the northern most section of its Empire. Our east to west virtual walk starts in Wallsend, near Newcastle and continues to the plains of the Solway coast. We will pass many Roman settlements and forts and stop to visit some museums and visitor centres.
